Team roles

Senior Early Years Practitioner

Responsible for the team in their room, our Senior Early Years Practitioners ensure quality observations are carried out and play experiences are planned and implemented that are child-led and follow the child’s interests. Their role is to oversee good practice and make sure current legislation, nursery policies, and Early Years guidance are at the forefront of the Early Years Practitioners daily routine in meeting each individual child’s needs.

Senior Practitioners support staff to provide consistent care and a structured routine so children are happy in their nursery environment. They check that all daily paperwork is completed, and each child’s Personal Learning Journal is maintained.

Early Years Practitioner

Our team of professional Early Years Practitioners are responsible for the daily care and education of the children at the nursery. They work hard to create a nurturing environment, providing quality observations, and planning activities to reflect the child’s interests, and that follow Early Years guidance. Each child at the nursery is assigned an Early Years Practitioner as a key worker, who is responsible for maintaining an individual Personal Learning Journal. Staff undertake regular CPD and are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.
